Though he looks rough-n-tough, he is a wonderful, sensitive and helpful friend. We admire his writeups (checkout his blog)- his choice of words, way of describing, imagination... (yup, you were right, biju forced us to write this! ).
He loves the guitar(which he, obviously, doesn't know how to play), his bike(one thing he is good at) and Preethi (Hope she doesn't become lazy staying with this guy). Keeps blushing when linked with people, be it @office or @home..
We hope that this salsa expert, will swing "preethi" to his tunes..
All the Best Buddy!!!
There was once a man from Madras, who to Oracle had hiked,
Worries of his marriage had his parent sleepless and psyched,
They thought no one would wed him cos his hair was curly not spiked,
To forget his troubles and his hair, he into the mountains biked,
He then fell - often from his bike and then, finally for someone he liked
Rakesh - The cupid on biju & Preethi
My claim to fame in life is having known both for a sufficiently long time and having played the role of a cupid. I still remember the moment when Biju, trying to straighten his coiled hair, non-chalantly asked me "machan, need some time pass, tell me about the babes of your college". This was back in the first year of my undergraduate college.
Preets is the mother of intimidation. She can talk (and eat) herself out of anything. Whenever there was a tough technical question that we couldn't answer, we sought her amazing talent to come up with out-of-the-whatever-u-can-think-of answers. Preets was also the entertainer of our gang. We took immense pleasure in making her cry and yell out compliments at us. She is also an amazing dancer.
Biju is an art movie on the move. He had the look of a 1970s hero a year back when all the coiled hair he had decided to grow upwards pointing towards the sky. But now, after things have settled down, he has found time and money to cut his hair and get a decent shave. Those who think of him as an onnum theriyadha pullai are requested to contact me for confuting evidence.
To end on a senti note, remember that in case you people run into trouble just give me a call. I will be very happy to further it :-D. And of course, "Happy married life!!" hv fun in life...
Zulfi on Biju
There is a saying "You understand the fruitfulness of certain things only when you lose and get it back." I know Bijesh from our eight class. We were very thick friends initially and then due to a quarrel we weren't. The quarrel itself, ironically, was because our wavelengths matched. Later we become closer friends than before.
All of us like to help or do things for our friends - that is human nature, I always wanted to be of help to him but I never got a chance as he would never ask for help or lay his needs out. This made me more attached to him.
"Silence speaks more then words". "Empty vessel makes more noise". The first quote applies to Biju and the second quote to me.
When he said he needed me to write something, I did not know where to start and where to end. I am not as good writer as he because even in school he wrote out what I had to say and that's how our article got published in a newspaper when we were in 11th class.
He moved on to his graduation in a different city. One day he told me about his love and the thought in my mind, at that time, was "Preethi has made great decision". I do not know much about preethi but I know they are the right pair. All I ask of God is to bless them more and more.
I think of the good ol' days
When all we had to worry about
Was waking up in the morning
Getting to school on time
And just doing some simple work
Time goes and time comes
More come and more disappear
We went to class for half of the day
We had some laughs and goofed around
Having get togethers half were failures
But the others were taken for granted
Life was grades and self-interest
Time goes and time comes
More come and more disappear
Class schedules were altered around others
You'd talk in class and in the halls
Popularity at first outgoing at last
Clicks were formed but cliches fell
Stereotypes were soon totally razed
Time goes and time comes
More come and more disappear
At lunch you sat at that table (Because you never bring lunch and you go home for lunch)
Sports were joined and teams made
Goals and dreams shattered each grade
Bells rang annoying us all
Clocks moved slowly soon they were gone
Time goes and time comes
More come and more disappear
Ravi about Preethi
I majorly admire her for the aura of affability that surrounds her always which pulls people to her in no time at all. she is s kinda person who is driven to limits by her passions - Dance, Indian history, etc etc ...and did I forget "Network Security" :). I have had some really memorable times with her and she can put you in a comfortable position in all those black days.
Nevertheless, this "heavy-vehicle" is great fun to be with and her cheerful countenance is something that you can never miss if she is around. She will make life wonderful for people around her!! She is everything that I have told above and a lot more.
